One of San Diego's finer neighborhoods, Scripps Ranch offers quiet country seclusion; its streets are wide and meandering, lined with Eucalyptus and cedars of Lebanon. Though it features spectacular custom homes, Scripps Ranch is comprised mostly of middle and upper-middle modern homes.
Scripps Ranch Business Park, with its large firms and corporations, such as Geico, also includes smaller product and service-oriented businesses to employ a local workforce. Centrally located shopping areas maintain grocery stores, banks, restaurants, and small unique shops.
Kids' activities are well-supported, soccer being one of the most popular sports. Many clubs and activities are also available for adults: the garden, quilting, computer and music club, as well as a small theater group and a writing group.
Scripps Ranch kids rank in the 90th percentile in the state, among the highest, and attend the San Diego Unified School District. Scripps Ranch High School opened in 1993, while new elementary and middle schools have opened in recent years.
