San Diego Real Estate License School

Starting on October 1st, 2007, an applicant for the real estate salesperson examination must show proof of three courses prior to the state exam. Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one other course from a designated list will be required

The pre-license package includes:

This pre-license package includes Real Estate Principles, Real Estate Practice, and one other course from the designated list provided by the DRE. You will choose the third course from a drop-down menu on a subsequent screen.

Each course includes a printed textbook, on-line homework assignments, and online final exam. The Chamberlin courses have been approved by the California Department of Real Estate and fulfill the education requirement to qualify for the state-administered examination. $7 will be added to your order for shipping and handling. In addition to the written book of California Final Briefing Examinations, you will receive access to an interactive database of over 1,000 current questions, just like those you will find on the state exam. You study the questions in practice exams drawn at random or by category from the question database. Practice exams grade automatically, providing explained answers and links to an extensive real estate glossary.

	Successfully complete the "California Real Estate Principles Course and Exam" to receive your "Certificate of Completion".
	Submit your "Department of Real Estate State Salesperson Examination Application" along with your "Certificate of Completion" and appropriate fees. The DRE will notify you of your exam date/time/location. Please note:test dates have been known to be 6-8 weeks after your application is submitted.
	Complete the State Exam Practice Question Workbook. (FBX booklet - included in your licensing school program)
	Once a date is set for your exam, call the Real Estate School Administrator and schedule your two-day weekend crash course. (Crash course - included in your licensing school program)
	Successfully pass the DRE - "State Salesperson Exam."
	Submit the Salesperson License application ($145.00* to the DRE), have fingerprints taken ($56.00** to Department of Justice), and submit your Certificate of passing the DRE "State Salesperson Exam". Please note: it can take between 4-6 weeks to receive your license. * Prices may change without notice.

Upon joining any brokerage there are additional costs. Among other costs are, Local, State and National Real Estate Associations, multiple listing fees, Errors and Omissions Insurance, business cards, signs, etc. These are typical business startup costs.
